This support page will answer any frequently asked questions you may have about Obie. If you're looking for his favorite foods, music, and other interests aside from knowledge management, you can find his dating profile on Tinder!
Obie answers what, where or how questions. Obie is in beta and learning quickly - right now he uses a natural language processing algorithm to search your team's knowledge bases. If you’re having trouble getting Obie to return a result, try typing what followed by the keywords you want to search for.
Obie also delivers Flows, which are like drip-campaigns for learning. Flows let you automate training and use spaced-repetition to increase knowledge retention. You can learn more about Flows below.
Tip: Type help to Obie and he'll let you know how to interact with him.
You choose where Obie searches for knowledge!
You can feed knowledge to Obie right in Slack. Learn more about this below.
Obie can also search your team's dashboard, including Pages and Flows.
And! Hook up your team's external knowledge bases and give Obie authorization to search select folders. Currently, Obie integrates with Google Drive, Confluence, Dropbox, Evernote, and Google Sites. To find out how to manage your team's integrations, see the question below.
Obie loves getting this question because searching and sharing is one of his strengths! There are two simple ways to feed knowledge to Obie:
1. Via Slack. Ask Obie the question you want to give him the answer to, then follow his lead.
2. Via the dashboard. Go to the Responses page (yourcompany.tasytt.com/responses) to view, add, delete, or edit responses.
To manage your team's integrations, type integrations. Obie will list all the platforms he integrates with. Select your desired platform. You will be redirected to Integration Settings on the dashboard. There, you can select which folders you would like to give Obie authorization to search.
The Obie.ai team has taken great care to ensure that users are unable to escalate their permissions on the dashboard, or any third-party platform, by interacting with Obie. He may bring back search results that not everyone on your team can access, but the third-party will verify whether that person has access to the document beyond the title. The third party will often prompt to "request access to the document" if the user does not have permission. You can learn more about how we ensure the security of your data while in our care here.
All data you enter into Obie remains yours, and the Obie.ai team is committed to ensuring that your data is kept safe and confidential. We do not copy or clone your documents in any way.
Obie does store some data on our servers. You can learn about all the details of what exactly is stored here.
Yes, you can! /invite @obie to your channel(s) of choice and ask him questions just as you would in a DM.
Note: Obie cannot execute Flows within channels, only DM.
Flows are a series of steps delivered one at a time via Obie. They use spaced-repetition to increase knowledge retention. Create Flows on the dashboard to automate training or to share knowledge, lessons or checklists, and then they will be deployed to your team in message-sized pieces.
Flows are great for new hire tasks, to assign books, or to teach a certain skill. They can include steps like a Google doc, "Watch this YouTube video" or "Read the Sales Book" and you can get points for completing them.
Tip: Try creating a Flow that new hires will be assigned automatically or use one to make sure everyone is caught up with a new process.
It's pronounced tacit, as in tacit knowledge, but we’re not picky! Tasytt is the company that developed Obie. Read more about the company here.
